~Lil Bits Adventure~

I came in last evening from working on the little tractor and had 3 messages and 6 missed calls on my phone. I had had it with me out side earlier. Larry and I came in to eat lunch and I was talking to mom and laid it on the table and forgot to put it back in my pocket when we went back out.

The first Message was a this pic of her x-ray. She had broken her right arm, both bones close to her wrist.. They were at the mud races and all the girls (Cember, Gabby and Kelsey) were in the back of Buck and Mandy's jeep resting, Kelsey got too close to the edge and rolled out and tried to catch herself with her arm and snapped those bones. This was at about 5:00, I did not get the message until 7.. I was frantic.. I immediately called Rocky to see where they were and how she was doing. He said she was being a trooper, asking what is your name, what are you doing.... etc.. Just talking up a storm.. I told him I was getting a QUICK shower and I was on my way. I talked to Kelsey and told her Nana was coming.. I had to get the paint and rust off. quickest shower and shampoo, I think I have ever taken.. Did not even take time to dry my hair, or make up, just clothes and out the door.

At this time, they thought they may have to do surgery to get it back together, so they started an IV. Kelsey had tears in her eyes and realizing that both arms were immobilized, she was trying to use her knee to wipe the tears.. I was going to be there. About 5 minutes out of Benton, they decide Surgery is not necessary. She was laying there watching Nascar on the TV. They gave her something to kinda semi knock her out, then the doc came in and set it, Rocky said she cried about 15 seconds, while they put the tube bandage on, then when they started with the purple casting material, she started talking, I love that, it is so pretty.. WOW,,, so, by the time I got there they were ready to leave. When they came through the doors to leave, I was standing there and Kelsey wanted me... I am so sorry, I was not there for them and for her, From now on I will make sure my phone is on me at ALL times... But everything turned out OK. We went to Micky D's and got her a Happy Meal (with a boy toy, race car). That girl (well actually all 3 of them) are into that racing. I am attaching a pic of her in her purple case watching Nascar, Rocky is holding the mic close so she can hear better..

Thank God that she is OK and did not have to have Surgery...

~Leaving on a Jet Plane~

Well, we are about to do something new.... Mom, dad, Larry and I are going on a trip together... We are sending mom and dad to CA on Sept. 26th, then Larry and I are flying out on Oct. 2nd. Larry can only take one week at a time and mom and dad (Being RETIRED) can stay longer. Since we have family there, they can visit with them till we get there. We will pick them up and we are going to the Redwoods. Larry has never seen them and I haven't in at least 37 years(that's how long I have been back in AR).. I would also like to go to Agate Beach. I remember looking for Agates there (in fact I still have 2 I found there) when we were in that area for a Church Choir concert. Remember those lavender dresses... I am excited about it. I want to show Larry some of the places that I lived out there and then I want to see this new "GLASS" bridge they have built in Redding. I want to visit Shasta Dam, Mt. Lassen and a few other places. We will get to visit with Aunt Sue and Uncle David, (can't say Larry will get to meet them, because he did that in June right after his heart surgery) Hopefully get to see Robert, Mike, Ken and their families. Not sure about that, but I would love to.. I have requested visitor information on the Redwoods and when we get that, we will sit down and go through it and kinda decide what all we really want to see and do while we are there. We will all fly back home together on Oct. 11th. It will be a GREAT TRIP.... I just bought a new digital camera, I have an extra memory card for it and an extra battery. So I think I am set there. I take ALOT of pics. It is nothing for me to take over 1500 pics on a weeks vacation.. I will post more as plans come together. CAN'T WAIT. This is our first vacation since we started building our home.. AND our FIRST EVER with mom and dad.... We have taken short day trips with them and have had a large time, but this time will be even better....

It was 21 years ago today, that Larry and I had our first date. We went to dinner at Steak and Ale. I remember it so well. I was too nervous to eat much, but after 21 years that is not a problem any longer. We talked as if we had known each other for ever. I met him while working as a check out clerk at the local grocery store. He came in every Friday and bought 6 or 8 Ribeye Steaks. We talked and joked with each other, he made it a point to always come through my line. I asked him one time, when he was going to cook one of those for me?? His response: When ever you want me to... This went on for about a year, then I left the store and we did not see each other for a few months. Then one morning I seen him at the Post Office, He asked where I had gone and I told him I was working in LR for the State.
One morning I was waiting on the girl I was riding with to get to the meeting point and I got a glimpse of a vehicle coming at me on the Drivers side, I looked up and it was him, he had pulled up to where his front grill was almost touching my car. I bout panicked.. Tina got there and we left, without saying a word to each other. Then we began to see each other there nearly every day. Sometimes we talked sometimes just waved. This went on for a couple of months, then the lady that worked in the station told me he wanted my phone number. I would not give it to him at that time. I just was not sure I wanted to date..
In early July, I began to call him, but secretly hoped he would not answer and was scared that a woman might answer, I did not know if he was in a relationship or not, neither did the lady at the station, she had never seen him with a woman, but did not know for sure. Then on August 2nd, I called him and actually talked to him. We talked for over 3 hours and he asked me out for the next night and I said OK.. It that is how it all began. But we did not get married until Dec. 27, 1995. He has been the most caring, considerate, loving man I have ever known. He spoils me rotten.. I am so blessed to have him in my life, as you all know, I came so very close to loosing him just 10 weeks ago, but by the Grace of God, he is still with me and continues to spoil me.
The day after our first date, My house (the one that Mike and I lived in) went up on PUblic Auction. Larry sent me flowers.. and they continue to come still today...

I LOVE YOU BABE!!!
